PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Marijuana worth about $3.1 million was seized and six people arrested in a raid on “grow houses” that fed what police called a “highly profitable” distribution operation in the Portland metro area.
Portland police served more than a dozen search warrants Tuesday and Wednesday to wrap up an investigation that began early this year.
Police seized more than 2,400 marijuana plants with an estimated value of $2.5 million and nearly 200 pounds of processed marijuana worth about $600,000.
Portland Police Bureau detectives said power was being diverted directly from utility poles into the houses to run a network of transformers, lights and filtration systems.
