Indiana basketball revival under way

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Tom Crean knows how far the Indiana program has already come.

He sees it every day at practice with the increased competition for playing time, and now fans are starting to see the fruits, too.

Three years ago, Crean inherited a program that had only two returning players, both walk-ons, was in trouble with the NCAA and had academic problems. He finally has Indiana’s basketball team looking more like its old self.

Indiana has won eight straight home games and is off to a 7-1 start as it heads into Saturday’s showdown at No. 17 Kentucky.

But what really excites Hoosiers fans is the way Crean is recruiting in the talent-rich state of Indiana.
