SEATTLE (AP) — U.S. marshals and Auburn, Wash., police have arrested a Portland, Ore., man charged with first-degree murder in the May 21 slaying of a Washington state video producer.
Court documents say Auburn police used cell phone records and a bloody hand towel to help build their case against 30-year-old William L. Phillip Jr. in the death of Seth Frankel. Prosecutors say both men had dated the same woman but she chose to pursue a relationship with Frankel.
Phillip was booked into the Multnomah County Jail in Portland after his arrest Friday and was held on $1 million bail pending extradition to Washington. It was not immediately known whether he was represented by a lawyer.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 21 in the south Seattle suburb of Kent.
The 41-year-old Frankel was found dead in his suburban Auburn duplex, covered in blood, with neck wounds.
