NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) — Mike Glover scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Iona defeated Fairleigh Dickinson 87-66 on Saturday for its seventh win in a row.
It was the junior forward’s sixth double-double this season for the Gaels (7-3).
Kyle Smyth scored 16 points, Scott Machado added 13 points and eight assists, Chris Pelcher scored 12 points and Jermel Jenkins had nine points and eight assists for Iona, which made 62.5 percent (20 for 32) of its shots in the first half, when it took a 49-27 lead.
Glover and Pelcher each scored two baskets during a 21-4 first-half run when the Gaels increased an 8-5 lead to 29-9. They never led by fewer than 12 points for the rest of the game.
Nate Gibbs scored 13 points and Kamil Svrdlik 12 to lead Fairleigh Dickinson (3-5). The Knights turned the ball over 23 times to 13 for Iona.
