North Dakota dominates Mayville State 74-57

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Jamal Webb and Aaron Anderson scored 15 points apiece to lead North Dakota to a 74-57 victory over Mayville State on Tuesday night.

Patrick Mitchell and Troy Huff each added 10 for Fighting Sioux (4-6), who had lost their last two. Webb also had game-high totals of nine rebounds and five assists.

Shavontae Samuels, averaging 20.8 points coming in, scored 26 points for the Comets (5-5). Dalonte Gibson added 12 for the NAIA school, including two of his team’s four 3-pointers.

North Dakota shot 50.9 percent (27 of 53) to 40.0 percent (22 of 55) for the Comets. The Fighting Sioux also held a 37-28 rebounding advantage.

North Dakota led 34-25 at halftime, and Mitchell’s 3-pointer made it 59-40 with 9:08 to play, giving the Fighting Sioux their largest lead.
