PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Reality TV star Richard Hatch is scheduled to appear in federal court on a charge of violating terms of his probation on his tax evasion sentence.

Hatch is expected to appear before William Smith in Providence on Wednesday.

Hatch was convicted in 2006 of failing to pay taxes on the $1 million prize he won on the first season of “Survivor.”

He served three years behind bars and is currently serving three years of probation, which began after he was released from prison last year.

His probation requires him to find work, complete a mental health program, refile his 2000 and 2001 tax returns and pay all back taxes.

Federal authorities did not reveal which of the terms Hatch is accused of violating.
