LACEY, Wash. (AP) — Investigators say a fatal shooting at a Lacey home was the apparent suicide of the Tenino police chief’s wife.

Lacey Police Lt. Phil Comstock says the chief was home at the time of the shooting Sunday afternoon. He was questioned but not arrested.

Comstock says the Lacey police had not previously responded to the home, and the gun used in the shooting was not Chief Sean Gallagher’s service weapon.
