UC Davis cruises past Cal State Fullerton 88-72

FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) — Eddie Miller and Josh Ritchart scored 20 points apiece as UC Davis took its Big West opener from Cal State Fullerton 88-72 Tuesday night.

Ryan Sypkens added 17 and Joe Harden 15 for the Aggies (6-7), who shot 50 percent (30 of 60) and hit 40.6 percent (13 of 32) from 3-point range.

The Titans (4-9), who never led, had four players in double figures but converted just 3 of 15 3-pointers.

Andre Hardy led Fullerton with 19 points. He was followed by Orane Chin with 17, Jer’Vaughn Johnson with 15 and Devon Peltier with 12.

UC Davis never trailed and was up 36-27 at intermission.

The Titans trimmed the gap to 42-41 when Chin scored with 14:59 to play, but the Aggies replied with a 9-0 run. Ritchart helped hold the Titans at bay with 17 second-half points as UC Davis scored a season-best 88.
