South Dakota beats Doane 109-92

VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) — Louie Krogman scored 24 points and Charlie Westbrook added 22 to lead South Dakota to a 109-92 victory over Doane Thursday night.

Jordan Boots scored 15 points, Steve Tecker 14 and Trevor Gruis 13 for the Coyotes (8-7), who shot 57 percent from the field.

Doane College, an NAIA school, stayed close in the early going, and South Dakota didn’t take the lead for good until it was 22-20 with 9:02 left in the first half. It was 46-38 Coyotes at the half and it took a 14-1 run in the second half for South Dakota to put it out of reach.

Nick Reed had 22 points to lead the Tigers (9-6), while Joshua Riser and Taylor Oltjenbruns each had 16. Doane also had a good shooting night, making 54 percent of its shots.
