NEW YORK (AP) — Stock futures are rising modestly as investors are betting that upcoming economic reports will show signs of growth.

A report Tuesday on the housing market is expected to show continued improvement in the battered sector. Major stock market indexes rallied Monday following encouraging signs about growth in the manufacturing sector.

Overseas markets mostly rose following gains in the U.S. on Monday.

The National Association of Realtors is expected to say its index of pending home sales rose in December.

Dow Jones industrial average futures are up 33, or 0.3 percent, at 10,170. Standard & Poor’s 500 index futures are up 3.90, or 0.4 percent, at 1,090.20, while Nasdaq 100 index futures are up 4.25, or 0.2 percent, at 1,760.00.
