A 22-year-old Vancouver man was injured late Thursday night after trying to run from police at Big Al’s family entertainment center in Fisher’s Landing.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday, Vancouver police had been tipped that Francisco Lopez, for whom an arrest warrant had been issued, was inside the business at 11615 S.E. 18th St., said Officer Ilia Botvinnik.

The felony warrant charged that Lopez had escaped from community custody after a conviction on drug charges, Botvinnik said. Officers with the state Department of Corrections were seeking Lopez.

Escape in that sense can mean several things, such as not appearing at a court hearing.

Police knew Lopez had run from them before. When they spotted him, Lopez allegedly tried to run outside.

A pursuing officer used a high-voltage Taser weapon on Lopez and Lopez fell, hitting his head on something, Botvinnik said.

Paramedics with AMR Northwest ambulance service rushed Lopez to Southwest Washington Medical Center.

His head injury was believed to be minor, Botvinnik said.
