OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Gov. Chris Gregoire has changed the time Wednesday for signing a bill that will allow lawmakers to raise taxes on a simple majority vote.
The signing had been scheduled for 10 a.m. and was moved to 4 p.m. in her conference room at the Capitol.
The bill suspends Initiative 960, which requires a two-thirds vote for a tax hike. The change also does away with a requirement to list in the November voter pamphlet how lawmakers voted on tax increases.
