TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A judge has decided that a southern Idaho teenager accused in the 2009 shooting of his grandfather should be tried in the juvenile court system.

Prosecutors have charged 16-year-old Blue Hadden with three felonies stemming from the shooting of Craig Hadden last April. Craig Hadden was shot four times outside his home, but survived.

The counts against his grandson Blue Hadden include grand theft by possession, criminal solicitation and accessory to a felony.

The teenager’s case was initially moved to adult court. But The Times-News reports a judge has moved the case back to juvenile court after prosecutors and defense attorneys filed a motion requesting the transfer.

Blue Hadden is one of three people charged in the case. Last month, 16-year-old Michael Cannon pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder.
