OSP trooper injured in crash west of Tumalo

TUMALO, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon State Police recruit trooper had to be extricated from his patrol car after colliding with a pickup on Highway 20W west of Tumalo.

State police say the trooper was taken to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend with non-life threatening injuries. The pickup driver also needed to go to the hospital.

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash that occurred on an icy road.
