LAS VEGAS (AP) — Prosecutors will seek the death penalty against two accused gang members facing trial in the slaying of an off-duty Las Vegas police officer who grew up in Washington.

District Attorney David Roger said Wednesday that prosecutors will seek capital murder charges against 20-year-old Saul Williams Jr. and 18-year-old Prentice Marshall in the Nov. 19 shooting of Trevor Nettleton at his North Las Vegas home.

Williams, Marshall and four other defendants have pleaded not guilty.

Nettleton grew up in Quincy, Wash., and went to Davis High School in Yakima, Wash. His father, Richard, was a Washington State Patrol trooper. Trevor Nettleton leaves his wife, a young son and baby daughter.
