Only children ages 2 to 19 years old from Clark and Skamania counties with no dental insurance will qualify.

Volunteers will provide X-rays, sealants, fluoride treatment, fillings and extractions; cleanings will not be done.

“A lot of the children fall between the cracks,” said Kathy Falkner, with Clark County Public Health. “They may have medical insurance but no dental insurance, or don’t qualify for Medicaid.

“I’ve talked to some of the parents. Their children have never seen a dentist and some are 5, 6 or 7 years old,” she said.

Families also will learn about other resources that might be available to them.

In previous annual events, more than 200 volunteers provided more than $100,000 worth of dental treatment to more than 300 Southwest Washington children.

Clark College’s address is 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, but the clinic is on the west side of the campus, reached via East Reserve Street.

Services are donated by the Clark County Dental Society, Clark College, Clark County Public Health, the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington, the Greater Southwest Washington Dental Hygiene Association, Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Washington Oral Health Foundation.
