A petition is expected to reach the offices of Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md., and Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., sometime this afternoon calling on Congress to continue the search for a Washougal man missing since the Jan. 12 earthquake in Haiti.

The petition to Congress has garnered 4,720 signatures.

The Haitian government declared an end to searches for living people trapped in the rubble only a couple hours before another survivor was found Saturday.

Ratterman’s family and friends want the search to continue through at least Tuesday, a full two weeks after the devastating earthquake struck.

Ratterman, a nonprofit solar-panel entrepreneur whose family lives on the west edge of Skamania County, was staying in the Hotel Montana in Port-au-Prince.
