Baby boy dies of injuries from crash in Fife

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A baby boy who was critically injured Sunday night in a collision in Fife died Tuesday of his injuries at Mary Bridge children’s hospital in Tacoma.

A 26-year-old man accused of running a red light then running away from the scene, Matthew Ryan Hamilton, is jailed in Tacoma for investigation of possible charges.

The News Tribune of Tacoma reports the child’s father was treated at the scene. The mother was in another car and saw the crash.

Witnesses told police the other driver ran off. Officer found his name in the crashed car and found him the next morning, sleeping on a friend’s couch.
