CENTRALIA, Wash. (AP) — The man accused of attempting to rob a Centralia credit union is under guard recovering from gunshot wounds at a Seattle hospital.

Harborview Medical Center says Michael Anthony Lar is in satisfactory condition Wednesday.

The 57-year-old was identified Tuesday by fingerprints. He was arrested Monday night in Olympia and treated for wounds to an elbow and hip.

A police officer fired two shots Monday morning at an armed man who had held an employee arriving for work at the TwinStar credit union. She was not hurt. The robber escaped out a window.

Centralia police spokeswoman Chris Fitzgerald says local investigators are working with the FBI to determine whether Lar will face state or federal prosecution.
