SALMON CREEK — The Washington State University system reports record spring semester enrollment of 24,340 students at its four campuses, including its Salmon Creek branch.

WSUV enrollment is 2,892 students, an increase of 105 students or 3.8 percent from last year, school officials announced on Friday.

Growth is highest at WSU Tri-Cities, which saw an 11.9 percent increase to 1,508 students.

The main Pullman and Spokane campuses, considered one campus for reporting purposes, had an increase of 1.3 percent or 265 students from spring 2009. Pullman has 18,629 students; Spokane has 1,311 students.

Enrollment as measured by full-time equivalent credit hours shows a 3.1 percent increase for the system.

Minority enrollment is also on the rise: Minority students comprise 16.4 percent of the Pullman-Spokane student body, 17.8 percent at WSU Tri-Cities and 15 percent at WSUV, all increases from last year.
