BINGEN — Unmanned aircraft maker Insitu Inc. announced Thursday it has teamed up with a Virginia-based training company to teach U.S. Air Force Academy cadets to fly its unmanned ScanEagle system.
The training, through Bosh Global Services, will focus on using the unmanned system for surveillance, intelligence and reconnaissance missions, according to Bingen-based Insitu. Insitu’s systems cost less to operate than larger platforms, which is driving the need for more training.
Insitu is a wholly owned, independent subsidiary of the Boeing Co. The company is headquartered in Bingen and employs 700 people in offices there and in White Salmon, Stevenson, Vancouver, The Dalles, Ore., and Hood River, Ore.
