2nd-seeded Rezai wins at Swedish Open

BASTAD, Sweden (AP) — Aravane Rezai of France has beaten Lilia Osterloh of the United States in the first round of the Swedish Open.

Second-seeded Rezai won 6-4, 6-2 in a little under 80 minutes at the clay-court WTA tournament on Monday.

Fifth-seeded Arantxa Parra Santonja of Spain also advanced after beating Estonia’s Kaia Kanepi 6-4, 7-5. Parra Santonja served nine aces on her way to victory.

Also, Karolina Sprem of Croatia beat Maria Elena Camerin of Italy 7-5, 6-2.
