2 Lewis-McChord soldiers in Afghanistan killed

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) — The Defense Department has announced the deaths of two more Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldiers who were deployed in Afghanistan.

Pfc. Jacob A. Dennis died July 3 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. The 22-year-old from Powder Springs, Ga., was fatally injured in a weapons accident at Forward Operating Base Lane, Afghanistan. He was a member of the 5th Stryker brigade.

Twenty-three-year-old Sgt. Andrew J. Creighton of Laurel, Del., died July 4 of injuries suffered in combat July 1 in Oruzgan province. He was assigned to the 1st Special Forces Group.
