NEW YORK (AP) — Two-time defending national champion Connecticut will face Ohio State in the Maggie Dixon Classic on Dec. 19 at Madison Square Garden.

Rutgers will play Texas A&M in the first game of the women’s basketball doubleheader.

UConn, which has won an NCAA-record 78 straight games, returns three starters — including three-time All-America Maya Moore — from last season’s team that beat Stanford for the national championship.

The Huskies played Penn State in the Maggie Dixon Classic in 2008. Ohio State will be making its first appearance at MSG. The Buckeyes finished eighth in the final Top 25 poll before losing to Mississippi State in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
