A Vancouver man is being treated at an area hospital after he was wounded Monday night in an apparent drive-by shooting, according to a bulletin issued by the Portland Police Bureau.

Anthony Cross, 27, of Vancouver is believed to have been shot at 8:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Southeast 136th Avenue in Portland.

Portland Police officers responding to the scene were unable to locate Cross, who somehow had made his way to a Vancouver hospital. They learned he was the shooting victim when they were contacted by the Vancouver Police Department. Cross’ injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, according to the bulletin.

The alleged driver of the vehicle, 22-year-old Joseph Anthony Williams, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

A search is under way for a second suspect alleged to have run from police. The shooting is believed to have been gang-related, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Brad Clifton at 503-823-2087.
