ROYAL CITY, Wash. (AP) — The drive-by shooting that critically wounded a 10-year-old boy highlights the gang problem in the Grant County town of Royal City.
Police Chief Darin Smith told KXLY gangs are becoming increasingly violent. And he says graffiti threatens more violence in retaliation for Saturday’s shooting, which was meant for someone who no longer lives in the boy’s home.
KXLY reports there are 50 known gang members in the town that has three police officers.
