OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Minnesota’s J.J. Hardy has been scratched from Saturday’s game at Oakland due to a sore left wrist, the same injury that sidelined the Twins shortstop earlier this season.

Hardy, who was batting second in the lineup before being removed by Minnesota manager Ron Gardenhire, previously missed 13 games from May 11-25 with a left wrist contusion.

Nick Punto was moved to shortstop to replace Hardy while Matt Tolbert was inserted at second base for Minnesota.
