Selig to continue to look at expanding replay

SECAUCUS, N.J. (AP) — Bud Selig says he will continue to look at expanding the use of instant replay, but doesn’t think it will happen this year — if at all.

The baseball commissioner also says Monday night he’s “extremely comfortable” about his decision to not reverse the blown call that cost Armando Galarraga a perfect game last week.

Selig said he and baseball’s special committee for on-field matters have a conference call coming up to review several topics, and adds that there will be “no sacred cows.”

Last Wednesday, first-base umpire Jim Joyce erred on what would have been the final out in Detroit, where the Tigers beat Cleveland 3-0, calling the Indians’ Jason Donald safe. A shaken Joyce apologized to Galarraga after the game.
