JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — A Washington state man was killed attempting to secure a commercial fishing vessel to a dock in Juneau.

Juneau police and Capital City Fire Rescue say 33-year-old Edgar Cedillo was caught been a fish tender and the dock and could not be revived.

Juneau police Sunday said his hometown was not immediately available.

Emergency responders took a call at 2:25 Friday that a man was hurt and not breathing at a dock at Auke Bay, about 15 miles from downtown Juneau.

According to the police preliminary investigation, Cedillo was assisting with securing a fish tender, a boat that collects fish from catchers and transports them to a processor, to the dock.

Cedillo could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have requested an autopsy.
