PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A decision by Delta Air Lines to maintain nonstop international routes from Portland to Japan and Europe is being welcomed by Oregon officials.
Atlanta-based Delta says it will maintain routes to Tokyo and to Amsterdam, which officials say indirectly support thousands of Oregon jobs and could help the state’s economy recover.
Delta also plans to become more involved in the Portland community through sponsorships, events and organizations, starting with a $100,000 donation to the Nike Foundation.
Delta officials say the support the airline has received from the Port of Portland, the city and its customers have made the two international flights successful.
