Portland police make arrest in 1993 slaying

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A Portland police spokeswoman says detectives from the department’s cold case homicide unit have arrested a 35-year-old man in Vancouver, Wash., in the 1993 shooting death of a woman in Portland.

Detective Mary Wheat says Brad Richard Ballantyne was arrested Tuesday in the death of Kimberly Dunkin. She was found shot to death in her vehicle on Jan. 1, 1993.

Wheat says Ballantyne will be arraigned Wednesday on one count of aggravated murder and one count of murder in a Clark County courtroom.
