NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Nashville Predators have signed defenseman Francis Bouillon to a two-year contract worth $2.7 million.

The team announced the deal Friday, saying Bouillon will make $1.2 million in 2010-11 and $1.5 million in 2011-12.

The 34-year-old Montreal native played a career-high 81 games for the Predators last season, ranking second on the team and among the top 20 NHL defensemen in hits with 162. He had 50 penalty minutes and posted 11 points while averaging 19:18 minutes per game.

The 5-foot-8, 198-pound Bouillon is the longest tenured member of Nashville’s defense, having played in 566 regular-season games with Nashville and Montreal since 1999.
