PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Jordan Theodore had 19 points and five other Seton Hall players scored in double figures in a 92-80 win over Providence in the season finale Saturday night.

Seton Hall (18-11, 9-9 Big East) will make its case for an NCAA berth in a rematch Tuesday, when the 10th-seeded Pirates face the 15th-seeded Friars in the opening round of the Big East tournament at Madison Square Garden.

Vincent Council scored a season-high 24 points for the Friars (12-18, 4-14), and Sharaud Curry added 19 points for Providence in his final Friar home game.

Providence squandered a 28-13 first-half rebounding advantage, shooting only 33 percent from the field as Seton Hall knocked down 53 percent of its shots to take a 43-35 lead into halftime.

Seton Hall pulled away in the final minutes, making uncontested layups against Providence’s woeful defense, which gives up 85.3 points allowed per game.
