DALLAS (AP) — Jerret Stoll scored in the sixth round of a shootout to give the Los Angeles Kings a 2-1 victory over the Dallas Stars on Friday night.

After the first 11 shooters failed to score, Stoll beat Marty Turco with a wrist shot for the Kings’ fifth victory in five games against the Stars this season.

Jonathan Bernier, making his first NHL appearance of the season, made sliding saves on Loui Eriksson in the second round, Mike Ribeiro in the fourth, and Jamie Benn in the sixth. Mike Modano had the best chance in the shootout for the Stars, hitting the right goal post in the fifth round.

Bernier stopped 29 shots, and Fredrik Modin scored a power-play goal for the Kings.
