Narveson boosts bid for spot in Brewers’ rotation

SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) — Left-hander Chris Narveson boosted his bid for a spot in the Brewers’ rotation, pitching four scoreless innings as Milwaukee beat the Kansas City Royals 2-0 Tuesday.

Narveson gave up five hits, struck out four, walked one and hit a batter. He has not allowed a run in nine innings in three starts. Five relievers combined to hold the Royals to three hits the final five innings.

Royals starter Gil Meche allowed an unearned run and three hits in four innings.
