Spring is around the corner, and the latest exhibit at Art on the Boulevard is sure to set the mood. Jan Taylor-Taskey, March’s featured artist, is displaying works that reflect her fondness for birds. Taylor-Taskey works in a variety of media, including fiber, sculpture and painting. Time is running out to see Taylor-Taskey’s art. It remains on display through March 27.

Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

The exhibit is just one of several weekend entertainment options in Clark County and Portland. Others include an improv comedy performance and the opening of the Vancouver Farmers Market.

1. Farmers market kicks off season

The Vancouver Farmers Market opens for the season in downtown Vancouver. The market’s offerings include plants, flowers, baked goods, food, pet treats, handmade goods and garden accessories. Fans can also catch live music performances this weekend. Earthquake Ethel’s Roadhouse Jazz Band and Bobs of Wrath will perform today; Michael Baker and Karsilama will perform Sunday.

Hours: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.

2. Magenta yuks it up

Magenta Improv Theater returns for an evening of improv comedy. The family-friendly show draws on audience participation to create scenes. Magenta Improv Theater is inspired by the television series “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”

3. Dance company heads down the yellow brick road

Vancouver Dance Theatre tells the story of “The Wizard of Oz” in its latest performance. “The Wizard of Oz” follows Dorothy as she is transported from Kansas to the magical land of Oz. There she meets the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion and the Tin Man and encounters the Wicked Witch of the West. The community dance troupe features dancers from 5 years old to young adults.

When: 7 tonight, and 2 p.m. today and Sunday.

Where: Fort Vancouver High School, 5700 E. 18th St., Vancouver.

Admission: $12, and $10 for children 17 and younger and seniors 65 and older.

4. Butler meets his match in ‘The Bounty Hunter’

Gerard Butler plays a bounty hunter with a grudge against his ex-wife (Jennifer Aniston) in “The Bounty Hunter,” in theaters this weekend. Aniston’s character misses a court date, and Butler’s character decides to track her down. Once he finds her, the couple is chased by a killer, the cops, a reporter and enforcers for a bookie. “The Bounty Hunter” is rated PG-13.
