TRI-CITIES, Wash. (AP) — The man accused of killing a pregnant Richland woman was arrested Tuesday night in Pendleton, Ore.

The 22-year-old Pasco man, Kurtis Robert Chapman, is charged in Franklin Count with second-degree murder in the strangling death of 19-year-old Shenay Greenough. She had been reported missing Saturday and her body was found Monday at Chapman’s home.

The Tri-City Herald reports Chapman had been released from jail just days before the killing, after serving time for possession of methamphetamine.

Pasco police Capt. Jim Raymond said Chapman and the victim were acquaintances.

Greenough had been a student until December 2008 at River’s Edge alternative high school in Richland.
