A one-car rollover on Main Street in Vancouver early Wednesday morning blocked the onramp to northbound Interstate 5 temporarily, officials said.

About 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, Nathan J. Vaughn, 20, of Vancouver was driving a 1999 Jeep Cherokee north on Main toward I-5 when he lost control on a curve and hit a barrier on the right shoulder, according to a bulletin from the Washington State Patrol.

The Jeep overturned onto its top.

Vaughn was not reported injured, but was taken to Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center for observation, the bulletin said. He was no longer at the hospital Wednesday evening, an employee said.

The crash was caused by excessive speed and a trooper sent his report to the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office, asking officials to consider charging Vaughn with DUI, the bulletin said.
