Vancouver-based C. Stein Beverage Group will celebrate its 20-year anniversary today with plans for employees in Washington and Idaho to hold barbecues and vie to win cash prizes. Longtime employees also will be recognized for their contributions.

Craig Stein, owner of the beverage distributor, said in a statement that the company’s success over the years “can be attributed first and foremost to surrounding yourself with good people.”

In 1990, Stein purchased Cascade Distributing in Vancouver, which had 11 employees at the time. Today, after 18 acquisitions, C. Stein Beverage Group has more than 350 employees and is one of the largest beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverage distributors in Washington and Idaho. The company’s distribution centers are C. Stein Distributing in Vancouver, Idaho Distributing in Boise, Idaho, and Nouveaux Beverage in Ketchum, Idaho.

To celebrate its 20-year anniversary, the company created a website trivia contest to give employees a chance to win a grand-prize raffle. All proceeds from raffle ticket sales will be donated to local charities: Second Chance Companion Pets in Vancouver and the Idaho Humane Society in Boise.
