SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — Olympic figure skating champion Kim Yu-na is among a group of South Korean medalists backing Pyeongchang’s bid for the 2018 Winter Games.

Kim is one of 24 South Korean winter sports athletes appointed to an athletes’ committee supporting the Olympic effort.

The 19-year-old Kim says she is “delighted” to be a member of the committee and an official ambassador of the bid. Also on the committee named Tuesday are Vancouver speedskating gold medalists Mo Tae-bum, Lee Seung-hoon and Lee Sang-Hwa.

Pyeongchang is bidding for the third straight time. The other candidates are Munich and Annecy, France.

The IOC will approve the list of finalists in June and select the host city next year.
