RIDGEFIELD — The Ridgefield School District has chosen two new principals for its grade schools, each to replace a longtime educator who will retire in June.

Angela Freeman will take over Union Ridge Elementary School. Her experience includes five years as associate principal in the Evergreen district, and the implementing of an accelerated mathematics program.

She will replace Connie Ford, who spent five years in Ridgefield and nearly three decades in education.

Janice Sauve will lead South Ridge Elementary School. She has earned several awards while principal at Marcus Whitman-Cowiche Elementary School near Yakima, in the Highland School District.

She replaces Vernon Yoshioka, who concludes a 10-year stay in Ridgefield and more than 40 years in his education career.
