Business name: Earth, Glaze & Fire.

Owner: Shantell Moffit.

Address: 2106 Main St.

What the business does: Earth, Glaze & Fire is a “paint it yourself” art studio. Individuals or groups, all ages, select unfinished ceramic items they would like to decorate and the studio supplies everything they need to complete their project. After decorating their item, it is fired and glazed and the customer returns to pick up their finished project. The studio also hosts field trips and parties.

How has the economy affected your business: Moffit said the economy hasn’t had a negative effect on her business. She said she runs a business that is family friendly and easily affordable.

Greatest challenge: Having the right inventory of ceramic items. Moffit said she is always guessing what the customers will buy.

What’s ahead: Moffit doesn’t plan any changes with her business for the next few months.

Year established in Clark County: Moffit purchased the business in October 2009. The business began in 1995.

Employees: Moffit uses some volunteers.
