SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The FBI says a male passenger on a flight from Oregon to Texas that was diverted to Salt Lake City was questioned and released without being charged.

Airport spokeswoman Barbara Gann said American Airlines flight 1476 from Portland to Dallas landed at Salt Lake City International Airport about 1:30 p.m. Thursday after the male passenger became unruly.

Salt Lake City FBI spokeswoman Debbie Dujanovic (DUE’-jan-oh-vic) says agents determined that there was no wrongdoing and the man was allowed to go on his way.

Gann says the pilot of the MD-88 decided to land in Utah after a male passenger refused to comply with directions from the flight crew.

The airport official says the flight was expected to resume travel to Dallas later in the day.
