A Clark County Fire District 6 firefighter was placed on paid administrative leave early last month following unspecified accusations that may include a violation of district policies, according to a news bulletin.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the allegations at the request of the fire district, spokeswoman Dawn Johnson announced in a press release.

“We hold our firefighters to high expectations of moral and ethical conduct, that’s why we’re taking these allegations seriously,” said Assistant Fire Chief Eric Quitslund. “But at the same time we want to make sure that we’re acting in fairness so that’s why we’re conducting this third party investigation.”

The firefighter/paramedic, who was not identified, was placed on administrative leave Oct. 5 pending the outcome of the investigation.

“I don’t even want to repeat the allegations because they’re just allegations,” Johnson said. “There’s definitely no threat to the public here. It’s nothing criminal.”
