ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) — A Jackson County sheriff’s search-and-rescue team found a hiker who was lost off the Bull Gap Trail in the Ashland area.
The sheriff’s office says the man had called for help as it was getting dark Sunday, saying falling snow made it difficult to see where he was going.
The man was found in good shape about 10:30 p.m. He had found food and water in an emergency box left in that area. The box is maintained by Jackson County for hikers and skiers in trouble.
