Firefighter under investigation resigns

A Clark County Fire District 6 firefighter accused of possibly violating district policies has resigned, effective immediately, the fire district reported this morning.

Firefighter-paramedic Richard “Rich” Wilson became the subject of the investigation being conducted by detectives with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Fire Chief Jerry Green has said.

Green has declined to confirm what Wilson is suspected of doing, but he said sexual harassment is not alleged to have occurred. Green said no crimes have been alleged, and what’s being investigated is possible violation of district policies about firefighter conduct.

Green justified not revealing what is alleged to have occurred, or making any documents about it public, by saying it’s under investigation. Whether policies were violated could hinge on whether the alleged conduct occurred while Wilson was on duty, Green earlier said.
