PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) — Casey Therriault threw for 331 yards and five touchdowns and ran for two more to lead Jackson State to victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff 52-30 on Saturday.

The Tigers (7-4, 5-3 Southwestern) grabbed a fast start when Therriault connected with Marcellos Wilder for a TD midway through the first quarter.

But the Golden Lions (5-5, 4-4) quickly came back in the half thanks in part to a pair of scoring runs by Stephen Jones and another by Josh Boudreaux. They led 24-17 at halftime.

After the break, the Golden Lions scored again when Justin Billings ran in from 19 yards out.

Therriault took control after that. He threw four unanswered touchdown passes to make it 45-30 midway through the fourth quarter. Then he ran in from 27 yards with 3:42 left for the final score.

Pine Bluff’s Boudreaux finished with 263 yards passing.
