Visitors can see what Fort Vancouver was like after dark by taking a lantern-lit tour tonight. Each adult can carry a lantern and tour the counting house, fur store, kitchen, chief factor’s house and bake house. The tour gives visitors the chance to see what it was like to live by lantern light.
Following the tour, hot cups of cider will be available, and visitors can ask questions about the fort.

The lantern tour is one of several weekend entertainment options in Clark County and Portland. Others include a collaborative theater production from Battle Ground and Prairie high schools, an improv comedy show and the latest “Harry Potter” film arriving in theaters.
1. Schools team up for theater production
Battle Ground and Prairie high schools are working together on “Bye Bye Birdie.” The showsatirizes the Elvis Presley frenzy of the 1950s and ’60s.
The musical tells the story of Conrad Birdie, an Elvis-like celebrity who disrupts the lives of people in a small, quiet community.

The latest musical comedy from Vancouver School of Arts and Academics is “Guys and Dolls,” which follows a cast of characters in mid-20th century New York City.
Sarah Brown is out to reform the evildoers in Times Square, but a slick gambler woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love. Meanwhile, an ill nightclub performer’s longtime fiancé is desperate to find a spot for his craps game.

The seventh of eight “Harry Potter” films, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” opens this weekend in theaters.
The film follows Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) as they attempt to find and destroy the sources of Voldemort’s immortality.
Meanwhile, Voldemort’s forces have seized control of Hogwarts and are searching for Harry.
The film is the first of two that portray the events of the seventh and final “Harry Potter” book. The other movie will wrap up the series when it is released in July.
“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” is rated PG-13.
