Rider shoots its way past Loyola Marymount 73-63

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Novar Gadson scored 18 points, making four 3-pointers, as Rider defeated Loyola Marymount 73-63 on Sunday.

The Broncs (4-1) were 11 of 19 from 3-point range (57.9 percent) in their third straight win and second in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off.

Rider trailed 38-37 at halftime before taking its first lead of the game on Mike Ringgold’s layup 17 seconds into the second half. The Lions (2-3) answered on a jumper, but the Broncs then took control, scoring the next seven points.

After a strong-shooting first half in which they shot 53.6 percent (15 of 28), the Lions were held to 9-of-34 shooting (26.5 percent) in the second half.

Ringgold finished with 16 points on 8-for-11 shooting and Anthony Myles added 10 for Rider.

Loyola Marymount was led by Drew Viney with 17 points. Ashley Hamilton and Anthony Ireland added 14 and 12 points, respectively.
