LAHAINA, Hawaii (AP) — Isaiah Thomas scored 14 of his 21 points in Washington’s overwhelming first half, and the No. 13 Huskies hit 17 3-pointers to crush Virginia 106-63 in the first round of the Maui Invitational on Monday night.

Washington (3-0) scored 216 points, second-most in program history, in its first two games and had no trouble putting the ball in the hoop against Virginia’s overmatched defense.

The Huskies shot 59 percent, made 17 of 26 3-pointers and got 17 points from C.J. Wilcox in a rout that started with a big run early in the first half.

Next up is a semifinal matchup against No. 8 Kentucky and freshman phenom Terrence Jones, a hated man in Seattle for spurning Washington at the last second to play for the Wildcats.

Jon Harris had 19 points and K.T. Harrell added 12 for Virginia (2-2) in its second consecutive lopsided defeat.
